Fr. Gustavo Amell, S.T.
Welcome to Trinity Missions and the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity. My name is Fr. Gustavo Amell, S.T.
Fr. Gustavo was born in Colombia in a traditional Catholic family that nurtured his faith and was a key to discovering his vocation. He met his Congregation in Colombia where the example and the apostolic spirit of the priests and Brothers who were serving in his parish impacted his life and encouraged him to enter religious life. He entered the Missionary Servants’ seminary in Medellin, Colombia, where he completed his philosophical studies. He went to Mexico for his novitiate year and professed his first vows. Fr. Gustavo came to the USA to study English and to continue his theological studies. He studied at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago where he finished his Master of Divinity and is currently finishing a Master of Sacred Scriptures.
Fr. Gustavo was ordained as a Deacon in Chicago, and while finishing his studies, he served in parish and immigration ministry. He was ordained a priest in 2019 in his native Colombia and was assigned to Mississippi as the Director of Lay Formation Ministry for a group of parishes that the Missionary Servants minister to in the area of central Mississippi. He is currently part of the pastoral team at the Shrine of St. Joseph, in Stirling, NJ, as well as the Associate Vocation Minister for the United States and Puerto Rico.
