Shrine of St. Joseph’s New Pilgrim Chapel Groundbreaking
On Tuesday, September 15th the long-awaited groundbreaking for the new Pilgrim Chapel at the Shrine of St. Joseph in Stirling, NJ was held. The newly appointed bishop of the Diocese of Paterson, Bishop Kevin Sweeney, was present to bless the site and shared shoveling the dirt with Fr. Mike Barth, S.T. This Chapel, which will house a beautiful, large Mosaic of St. Joseph, rescued more than 40 years by Brother Martin, will be a place of peace, reflection and prayer and will be built into the hill outside the side entrance to the Gift Shop on the side of the residence. Congratulations go to Fr. Dennis Berry and the team of laity who have guided this project through the last years.
Fr. Dennis Berry, religious and Civic Leaders along with First Responders gathered at the Tower of Remembrance at the Shrine of St. Joseph to offer prayers in gratitude of our First Responders and in memory of those lives that we lost on September 11th.

August 2020 Update from Haiti

Eucharistic celebrations
The national episcopal conference gave the green light for open celebrations with public participation and with health restrictions specified in a letter made public. The vast majority of these measures cannot be fully carried out here at the mission. To control proximity, we have increased Mass times so there are fewer people at Masses.
Small communities
The vast majority of the small communities formed since we arrived never stopped their weekly meetings, not even due to the pandemic. We have managed to channel charitable aid through the leaders of these small communities (those who appear in the photos with their animals are leaders of the small communities). They in turn come to the cenacle to receive the aid and then they distribute it to the people in need according to their own criteria. Once a month all the leaders gather for training and feedback.
The parish school
The current Haitian government wanted to open schools. We have also kept pace according to our abilities. We have reduced class hours with 5 minutes of recess. We have projected to end the school year on October 23rd to restart for another school year in November.
Our best regards,

Update from Honduras

Greetings brothers,
In the midst of the pandemic we thank God because through the generosity of our benefactors we have been able to support two food programs in two neighborhoods with large populations and extreme poverty. With these two initiatives, we have distributed more than 4,000 plates of food during these five months to children and the elderly in the midst of a social crisis due to the lack of economic means for families, due to isolation as well as loss of jobs and sources of income. During these five months, we have delivered more than 150 pounds of powdered milk to underweight children. We have started this program this year with the support of our benefactors and the fruit of two medical dispensaries thanks to the support of our leaders and alliances. With a program of Pastoral Health founded by a diocesan Spanish priest, it has brought great benefits to our communities in such need.
In the midst of the crisis we have supported a single mother with four small children, a victim of domestic abuse and who thanks to our involvement she was able to make a change for the better in her life, free of abuse leading to a better future for herself and her children. She is a testimony of our service as Missionary Servants of the Holy Trinity in our missions and the blessings of our benefactors who trust our administration to help our brothers and sisters in greatest need.
